Living in an Aging Society
Continuing Education Course
The U.S., like many advanced industrial societies, has an aging population distribution. This module provides information on the scale and scope of the demographic change in the coming decades, the different ways in which a growing number of people aged 65 and older will likely change U.S. society, policy choices that may be necessary to address the growing number of elderly, and the many positive ways an older population distribution could affect life in the coming years.
At the conclusion of this video series, participants will be able to:
Understand the scale and scope of the demographic change and the ways in which an aging population may challenge social and economic structures and values.
Recognize the potentially positive contributions that an aging population can make to families, communities, and society.
Accurately assess policy choices that may be needed to address an aging population.
