Pandemic Realities: Past, Present & Future - CE Course

The coronavirus pandemic, and other pandemics before it, has altered the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the globe and drastically impacted the world economy. In what is probably a huge underestimate, by late 2022 there have been over 640 million confirmed infections and almost 7 million deaths worldwide. In the U.S. the Covid-19 epidemic has led to over a million deaths and impacted every major sector of American society (health care, education, commerce, etc.). This course covers the impact of previous pandemics, provides an extensive timeline of the current coronavirus pandemic, and documents the impact of coronavirus on hunger and poverty, federal legislation, and the health and well-being of select populations.

At the conclusion of this video/graphic series, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the historical evolution of the coronavirus pandemic.

2. Understand and assess key pieces of federal legislation designed to mitigate the social and economic impact of the coronavirus on people, institutions, and state/local governments.

3. Assess the many implications of the Covid pandemic on health and well-being in the U.S.

4. Understand the impact of the epidemic on rates of poverty and hunger in the U.S.

5. Assess the impact of Covid and associated governmental responses on special populations and programs.
